Darrian Franklin committed to Oregon on Jun. 20, 2015 and has steadfastly remained true to his verbal announcement. He is an aggressive player that has the speed to run down tailbacks, and the reek havoc in the opposing teams' backfield. His disruptive style of play is somewhat reminiscent of former Oregon linebacker Michael Clay, though Franklin is taller.

Franklin is a 4-star player, ranked No. 270, in's top-300 players and is the No. 6 outside linebacker in the West.
