Oregon and USC square off on Saturday at Autzen Stadium

Special Teams are the focus in the third part of the Oregon-USC game preview. Ryan Abraham and Steve Summers discuss the strengths and weakness of both sets of special teams as the Ducks and Trojans prepare to meet up on Saturday at Autzen Stadium.

Oregon leads the conference in kickoff returns with a 25-yard per return average and have scored once, on Charles Nelson’s 100-yard return against California. Bralon Addison is Oregon punt return and averages 14.2 ypp, with a long of 89 yards and has one punt returned for a touchdown. Ian Wheeler is the punter averaging 40.4 ypp, with four punts going past 50 yards. He has had two punts blocked. Aidan Schneider is 17-of-18 in field goal kicking, including four field goals longer than 40 yards, though his longest is 41. The Ducks are also perfect in point after attempts with 49. Matt Wogan kicks off for Oregon with 47 of his 74 kickoffs ending up as touchbacks.

USC in last with a 19.5-yard per return; Adoree’ Jackson doubles the kick and punt return specialist. He averages 22.7 yards on kick returns and 8.4 ypp in punt returns. Place kicker Alex Woods is 10-of-14 in field goals with a long of 43. He also kicks off and has 10 of his 65 kicks spotted on the 25 because of a touchback. Punter Kris Albarado averages 41.7 ypp with six going past the 50 yard mark.
