Oregon leads USC at halftime

EUGENE, ORE. – Vernon Adams threw four touchdown passes and Aidan Schneider added a field goal with six second left on the game clock to give Oregon a 31-14 lead over USC.

All of Adams’ touchdown down throws were on explosion plays. He first hit Bralon Addison on a 49-yard scoring play then followed up finding a wide-open Evan Baylis on a 52-yard TD play. Later on Adams linked up with Darren Carrington covering 37-yard then found Kani Benoit standing alone in the endzone 30-yards away.

The USC defense were caught off guard when then punted with 18 seconds left in the half and allowed Royce Freeman a huge whole on the left side and he responded with a 32-yard run. Then Adams hit Addison for 28 yards and with six seconds left on the game clock, Schneider booted a 37-yard field goal.

USC scored on a 27-yard pass from Cody Kessler to Darreus Rogers and then again in the second quarter when Kessler hooked up with Tyler Petite covering 12 yards.

Overall, Adams has thrown for 313 yards and the four TDs but was intercepted once. Freeman has 84 yards of rushing on nine carries. The Ducks have a total of 407 yards (313 passing, 94 rushing).

Kessler has 153 yards passing and two TDs and has been sacked twice. Justin Davis is the leading Trojan  rusher with 36 yards. Overall, USC has 220 yards of total offense (153, 67).

Oregon will receive the kickoff to start the third quarter.
