"All comes down to how we practice and how we prepare," said linebacker Rodney Hardrick responding to how the Duck defense continues to improve. "We've been focused on practice and how we prepare."
Hardrick answered the question as part of the Oregon Defense Media Session on Thursday afternoon. Hardrick along with three of his teammates, Buckner, Nelson and Walker plus his coach, Pellum spent about 30 minutes talking to the assembled media about the upcoming Valero Alamo Bowl and Oregon's opponent, TCU.
Many of the questions asked the Duck defenders had to do with the news of TCU quarterback Trevone Boykin's arrest early Thursday morning. The Ducks basically felt that while it would have been nice to play against Boykin, that TCU has plenty of athletes to worry about, not just one player.
Other questions during media conference plus during the breakout sessions had to do with Oregon's last game with Oregon State, where the Ducks had played one the best halves in the last season in the first half of the Oregon State game, but in the second the Ducks struggled and allowed the Beavers to come within 3 points in the later part of the fourth quarter. The players all agreed that the problems the faced in the second half of the Beaver game had to do with a letdown by players and during the practice time since, the Ducks have focused what they have to do to be successful.
