Rutger Reimaier has committed to the Oregon Ducks.

The Oregon Ducks dipped into the state of Tennessee for the latest football verbal commitment. Rutger Reitmaier, 6-3, 280 from David Lipscomb Campus School in Nashville, Tenn., announced via Twitter that he plans to attend the University of Oregon. Lipscomb, is a 3-star defensive tackle and the number one player at his position in the state of Tennessee.

“Blessed to announce that I’ve committed to the University of Oregon,” Reitmaier said in his announcement tweet.

The Lipscomb product has been a hot commodity on the recruiting market garnering 15 offers (besides Oregon) from the two major schools in his state (Tennessee and Vanderbilt) plus a host of other Big 10 and ACC and SEC programs.

While no verbal commitment is binding until a National Letter of Intent is signed (and delivered no sooner than the first Wednesday in February, the commitment was a welcome relief to the Ducks and their fans. Reitmaier displays an aggressive style of play on the field and based on some his offers (from Duke, Vanderbilt, Army and Wake Forest) he obviously a good student too.

More information will be published about this commitment as it becomes available.
