"I'm going to continue my College Career at the University of Oregon," Niu said in his tweet.
While the news is good for the Ducks, it isn't particularly surprising as many felt Niu would head to Eugene this fall. Previously, Niu had indicated that USC was his childhood favorite, but once the Trojan's had filled up their requirements for linebacker, Niu started looking at Oregon very seriously.
According to Scout.com's Greg Biggins, Niu "is a very active ILB who runs well and is a big hitter. A bit undersized, he makes up for it by being very instinctive, reading plays and being too quick and active to block. He's a sideline to sideline guy who is very good in space, covers well and is the type of LB who will never need to leave the field."
Biggins also things that NiuPlays with a high motor and with great passion and energy, plus that Niu will be contagious for the guys playing next to him.
Niu, a 3-star player, picked Oregon over offers from six other Pac-12 programs plus LSU and Notre Dame.
