Cornerback Deommodore Lenoir gives his verbal pledge to Oregon.

The Oregon Ducks scored a bigtime cornerback today when cornerback Deommodore Lenoir, 6-0, 170, announced his decision to attend the University of Oregon for his college career. Lenoir is the first Oregeon commit this season that will attend this year's Opening Finals to be held starting July 5, at Nike Headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon.

According to, Lenoir, from Bishop Mora Salesian HS in Los Angeles is a 4-star rated player, ranked eighth at his position and is the No. 73 football player nationally. In his Twitter message Lenoir said, "after a long and stressful process of narrowing down so many great schools, first off I want to give all glory to God for this amazing opportunity. I want to thank everyone who supported me, was rooting for me that encouraged me and made this day possible.

"I'm excited what I'm going to bring to this program," said Lenoir on his tweet. "With that being said, I have made my final decision to commit to the Univesity of Oregon."

Lenoir picked Oregon over offers from 28 programs from around the BCS.

Oregon now has a total of seven commitments, five of whom have committed this month (June).
