Oregon native, A.J. Hotchkins is working hard for a spot on the field.

No. 55 A.J. Hotchkins, is very happy to be an Oregon Duck and is doing all he can to find himself on the 2-deep roster that has yet to be announced. Hotchkins, is a state of Oregon product having graduated from Tigard High School, but came to the Eugene campus by way of Riverside City College in Riverside, Calif. Enrolling for Winter Term 2016 (last January) Hotchkins was able to participate in spring drills, recording five tackles in the annual spring game.

So far in Fall Camp 2016, Hotchkins has done everything asked of him including working on special teams. He could be on all special teams units except field goal and point after attempts.

He is a well built young man that stands 5-11 and weighs 230 pounds.

One interesting note,, in the video recorded on Thursday following practice, Hotchkins mentions two players that have helped him along at Oregon, Tyree Robinson and Reggie Daniels. Does that mean Hotchkins could find himself playing in the defensive backfield as a safety?

That question might be a little far off in the future to answer, but the kind of size Hotchkins has plus the obvious upper-body strength, the question might turn out to be very interesting one down the road.
