Oregon's Prukop has two TDs in first half

EUGENE, ORE. – It took a while for the Oregon Ducks to get on track but at halftime lead the Cal-Davis Aggies, 25-7.

The Aggies scored first after Charles Nelson muffed a punt return and gave Cal-Davis excellent field position on Oregon’s 33. The Aggies scored six plays later when Ben Scott ran in from 9-yards out. After the converted point after UCD led 7-0.

Oregon struggled for most of the first quarter before Royce Freeman rushed for a 6-yard TD and Charles Nelson followed up with his first successful PAT giving the Ducks an 8-7 lead.

In the second quarter, Oregon scored on a 31-yard Aidan Schneider field goal then later on Johnny Mundt caught a Dakota Prukop pass in the endzone for a 10-yard scoring play. Nelson then scored on an identical PAT to make it 19-7.

Prukop got his second TD pass of the first half when he hit Jalen Brown on a 14-yard strike, but when the Ducks tried the same PAT with Nelson, if failed.

Prukop was 14-for-20, 139 yards and two TDs. Darren Carrington was the leading receiver for Oregon with five catches for 47 yards. Nelson had four grabs for 31 yards.

Kani Benoit was the leading Oregon ground gainer with 29 yards on three carries. Prukop had 23 net yards on eight carries and Freeman had 22.

Scott was 12-of-24 with one interception for 95 yards. Manusamoa Luuga had 15 yards rushing and was the leading Aggie ground gainer.

Oregon will receive the ball on the opening kickoff when play resumes.
