Lewis is the latest verbal.

Mark Lewis, 6-5 270, Arroyo Grande (Calif.) HS, verbally committed to Oregon last week to become the fourth high school player to do so this season. Lewis will plays tight end for the Eagles of Arroyo Grande, but was recruited as an offensive guard or tackle for Oregon.

Mark is also a shot putter and discus thrower in track and is center on the basketball team, but that's not all. He's also a very good student. He carries a cumulative 3.27 GPA and has a 1050 on his SAT.

Lewis indicated that Coach Neal Zoumboukos recruited him and after taking a trip to Oregon last week he was set to become a Duck. Coach Mike Bellotti had also sent him a formal offer.

"We had some down time because of CIF so we (his family) went to visit USC, UCLA and Oregon," said Mark. "It's (Oregon) a lot like our situation we are in now, it felt really homey."

He had a chance to meet Jason Fife and Kellen Clemens, plus many of the offensive linemen currently on the Ducks roster on his trip to Autzen Stadium last week.

Academically, Mark is thinking about majoring in Business or Communications. His team will start up soon and as far as recruiting goes, he thinks he will use take advantage of the official visit to return to Eugene later on. Mark was also hearing from Oregon State, Washington and California.
