Much of the available time for reporter's questions on Wednesday to offensive coordinator Matt Lubick was about freshman quarterback Justin Herbert. It's only natural as Herbert has burst onto the scene for the Ducks by thorwing for nearly a 1,000 yards in three games and 12 touchdowns. This week Herbert and the Oregon offense will have a big challenge as they travel to Los Angeles to take on the Trojans of the University of Southern California.
Lubick thinks Herbert has progressed "better than expected" and believes the young freshman can player ever better than he has.
The OC cited Herbert's leadership aspects that has been impressive so far.
On another subject, Lubick was asked about Royce Freeman's struggles over the last several games, but Lubick attributed the cause to several reasons though was not specific .
