Oregon opens up on Friday night against Army

Oregon may be the No. 5 ranked team in the country, but for sophormore guard Tyler Dorsey, the Ducks have not done anything -- yet. Oregon is preparing for its opener on Friday night against Army and with all the hyperbol that has surround Oregon Men's Basketball team, will the Ducks overlook their first opponent?

"It's our first game," observed Dorsey of the Friday night contest. "I don't think anyone is going to look past our first game."

Dorsey seems to chant the refrain of Chip Kelly's Oregon football team, "game-by-game process," the basketball equivalency to one game at a time.

While some may big dreams for the Oregon Ducks, Dorsey's feet a little more planted on the ground, or at least on the court of Matthew Knight arena and thinks it has been an awful long time since a team has gone undefeated in a season.

Long time for sure, the last team to do so was in Indiana  back in 1975-76. That was 40 years ago, way before Dorsey was born.

The game is expected to have a full house and Dorsey likes that idea.

"We need the fans to help us," admitted Dorsey. "They help us with the streak at home."

Oregon has won 18-straight home openers and also won all 18 home games last season

Tipoff for Friday's game is 8 p.m. Pacific and the game will be carried on the Pac-12 Networks.
