Oregon is at Utah

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – In a surprising low scoring first half, the Utah Utes scored one touchdown while the Oregon Ducks kicked one field goal, but for Oregon two key players have been lost. Wide receiver Charles Nelson was disqualified from the game after being called for a targeting block and Rex Manu left the game in second quarter with a knee injury.

Utah scored the first drive on a near flawless drive punctuated by Cory Butler-Byrd’s 24-yard touchdown run at the 10:51 mark of the first quarter.

Oregon sputtered on its first drive and turned the ball over on downs which led the Utah scoring drive. After the Utes scored the first touchdown, Oregon mounted a drive that ended with an Aidan Schneider 47-yard field goal. While the Ducks moved the ball, second down seemed to be a stumbling block as the ducks found themselves too many times with third and long or having to convert fourth downs.

For the half, Utah quarterback Troy Williams is 13-for-16 for 158 yards. Running back Joe Williams has 49 net yards.

Oregon’s Justin Herbert is 16-for-21 and 167 yards. Royce Freeman has 58 yards rushing.

Overall, Utah has 255 yards of total offense while Oregon has 264 yards.

Utah will receive the kickoff to start the third quarter.
