A player that could possibly be one of the first enrollees for 2017

A player that has had Oregon on the radar for some time is 3-star athlete Cyrus Habibi-Likio, 6-1, 200, St. Francis HS, Mountain View, Calif. After taking his official visit to Oregon for the Stanford game, many wondered if the coaching change in Eugene would that affect his thinking?

“I just got off the phone with (Jim) Leavitt today,” Habibi-Likio said of his conversation with the Oregon defensive coordinator. “I took my official (to Oregon) the weekend they played Stanford. I got offered by (Matt) Lubick about 2 or 3 months ago.”

Obviously, Oregon is reaching out to Habibi-Likio and while the youngster from the Bay Area likes the offensive side of the ball, since Leavitt was on the other end of the phone call, would there be any chance of recruiting him to defense?

“I have a lot of interest in the Ducks,” said Habibi-Likio. “I see myself playing slot and running back but I can play defense and I love safety or linebacker.”

Question answered!

Habibi-Likio’s top- 5 in no order: USC , Oregon, Boise State, Cal and Utah.

One critically important item, it is clear that Habibi-Likio  is “still thinking about early enrollment” which he could do at Oregon by enrolling after the Christmas break.
