Ducks improve to 12-2 for the year and 1-0 in conference play.

Oregon defeated UCLA 89-87 on Wednesday night at Matthew Knight Arena in Eugene. Following the game head coach Dana Altman responded to media questions about the game.

On his plan for the final shot… “Well, we wanted to rotate on the inbounds because we got fouled and we got it in. And we executed a play we’ve run in practice to get a three and Dillon (Brooks) hit it.”

“We had enough time to go to the basket and shoot it, but he (Brooks) felt like he liked the shot.

On if this is how they wanted to start Pac-12 play… “We won, so yes, that’s the way we wanted to start. But a game like this could be a catalyst for our team, to get us together. We needed a game like that to kind of get going.”

On how he felt about the team overall… “I thought our motion and energy level was higher that first half. The crowd was great; people saw a great game. I’m really proud of the guys for staying in the game and staying in the moment and finding a way to win.”
