Ducks win 69-52

Oregon improved to 18-2 for the season and 7-0 in conference play with a 69-52 win over Stanford. The Ducks hit 11-of-23 in 3-point shooting to ice the win.

Dana Altman, Head Coach
On the team's play today:
"I'm disappointed. We were sloppy. We missed our first three free throws – two of them front ends of one-and ones, and we just got a little careless with the 19 turnovers. There were some good things, we started the game really shooting the ball well and making plays for each other, then I thought we took some quick ones which took us out of our rhythm a little bit."

On playing without Dillon Brooks:
"I think offensively we started the game really well, our ball movement was pretty good, but in the second half the turnovers just took away what should've been a good performance for us. So it's not the step we wanted to take and I told the guys that it's January 21st and we still want to be going in the right direction and we didn't take a positive step today."

On the team's play defensively:
"At times our activity was pretty good. We gave them some looks late on a couple penetrations and wide open threes when our zone wasn't ready to go. But I thought for the most part defensively especially in the first half that our activity was pretty good."

 Jerod Haase, Stanford Head Coach
On giving up 33 points off of three-pointers:
"I think it was a combination of great shooting on their part, and poor defense on ours. I really need to go back and watch the film, but initially that's what I saw out there."

On how Oregon compares to Arizona and UCLA:
"All three of those teams are such great talents. The individual talent is is off the chart with this Oregon team. When you are playing them you have to find ways collectively to punch back from that. You do that by playing with passion and fury defensively, and really just playing your heart out. If we could get the entire team to play with the effort that Marcus Allen played with today we would be a lot better. That is a cultural thing that we are still building."
