On 2017 NLOI day, a 2018 WR received a call from the Oregon staff and was offered a scholarship.

Manuel Allen 6-2 180, a 4-star wide receiver from Centennial HS, Centennial, Calif., received a big call from the Oregon coaching staff.

“I just talked with Coach Jimmie Dougherty, Coach Taggert, the HB Coach and DB Coach,” said Allen of his conversation with the Oregon coaching staff. “They offered me.”

While currently committed to the USC Trojans, Allen plans to take official visits, and is “very interested in Oregon,” and will be in Eugene for Junior Day. He is also a fan of the new staff.

“(I) really like the new coaching staff, the tempo and style of the Ducks,” explained Allen of his interest in Oregon.

Allen had a personal interest in 2017 signings, particular Jaylon Redd and Nick Pickett, two of his friends that signed with Oregon.

With 16 offers, Allen said he would like to take official visits to Oregon, Nebraska, Washington State and Ole Miss. When asked what the number one factor will be in picking a school, Allen indicated, “a great passing team and a great head coach”.
