University of Oregon head coach Dana Altman
On the outcome of the game:
“We didn’t have a lot of rhythm offensively in the first half obviously. We took some bad threes. Dylan Ennis’s first three was a bad shot, Tyler Dorsey’s first three was a bad shot. That kind of threw our rhythm off offensively. We did a lot of standing around and our ball movement wasn’t real good. I’m disappointed of how we played offensively in the first half, but obviously in the second half our ball movement was better and we started hitting shots.”
On when he sensed that Dillon Brooks was going to take over:
"We gave him a blow there late. At the eight minute mark he had played all twelve minutes so he was a little fatigued. We gave him a couple minutes there, so after that he had all of his energy back and he could really take over the game.”
On if his team is ready for the challenge Arizona brings:
“Well we weren’t tonight. Hopefully by Saturday we will be. They are a very good team so we will have to play our A-game there is no doubt about it. They are athletic; they have won a bunch of games in a row so we know they will be ready to go. We just have to do what is necessary for us to be ready to go.”
Bobby Hurley - Arizona State Head Coach
On going toe-to-toe with Oregon:
. "We've played a lot of good teams, and they are one of the best teams. I was impressed with our defense. We didn't shoot it as well from behind the line, we had some in-and-outs, we're capable of doing a little better from that."
On Dillon Brooks scoring 12-straight:
"Torian [Graham] did the best he could with him, but he is so versatile with his ability to drive to the hoop and get fouled, and then he was hitting threes also. We couldn't provide a lot of help, because he was surrounded with shooters. They did a good job of getting that matchup and getting good results from it."
On the final possession:
"I was hoping that Tra [Holder] could come off that and step into a three, it didn't work that way, but he did the right thing…he drove it, he got to the hoop. If we could have gotten that score, and a little more time to try and foul, we could have had one more chance to get it out at the end."
On what they did right:
"I mean, you never want to feel like it's OK to lose accept that, but those guys fought their hearts out out there and as a coach, that is all you could hope for. We had some threes go in-and-out…we make a few more of those, and we're in great shape. We survived it because our defense was solid and we really guarded well in the first half. We knew they'd come at us and make a run, and we responded."
