Which coach have you been talking with? When did they offer?
JW: Coach Jim Leavitt offered me today at around 6 p.m. (on Tuesday Feb. 21.)
How interested in the Ducks are you? What did you guys talk about? Do you think Oregon will get one of your official visits?
JW: I am very intrigued. He (Leavitt) said I would be an OLB in their 3-4, and I would rush off the edge most of the time, and drop some of the time. He talked about all the prestigious places he's coached. As far as official visits it's pretty early to know about that but I'm very excited with the opportunity.
Great, how many offers do you have? What your current height and weight?
JW: I have 7 offers now. I am 6-5 240.
Do you have any plans for camps or visits this spring and summer?
JW: Right now I am still figuring most of that out. I will be at Iowa's Junior Day on March 5th.
Have you been to Oregon/West Coast before? How big of a factor will distance be for you and your family?
JW: I'm wide-open on where to go regardless of the distance. I have been to the West Coast once on a UCLA visit.
Did Coach Leavitt recruit you while he was at Colorado? Did he say how he found out about you?
JW: No he did not. I do know that my coach Tom Wilson had sent my stuff to him.
That’s great; can you tell me the teams that have offered? Is anyone standing out or recruiting you the hardest?
JW: Iowa State, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, UCLA, Indiana, and Oregon. Iowa State is probably recruiting me the hardest. I'd like to visit more places first before I think about favorites.
Do you play any other sports? What do you like to do for fun away from sports?
JW: I play basketball, usually I like to lay low with my friends, and watch sports.
What do you know about the Ducks, what do you want to learn more about the staff/program?
JW: I just want to learn their culture up there, and see what they're all about.
