William Barnes of Apopka Senior High School.

The influence of Oregon Co-Offensive Coordinator and Offensive Line Coach Mario Cristobal is having an affect on Oregon recruiting. Case in point, William Barnes, 6-4, 291, Apopka Senior HS, Apopka, Fla., a 4-star offensive lineman in the class of 2018. We spoke to Barnes about his offer from Oregon and interest in the Ducks.

 William Barnes

Congrats on the Duck offer.

WB: Thank you!

Was it Coach Mario Cristobal (making the offer)? How much interest in the Ducks do you have?

WB: Yes sir, and it's quite high (the interest) lol.

Do you have a visit date set? Have you been to the West Coast before?

WB: I am not sure when exactly, and I have never been up there.

Will distance be a factor for you and your family?

WB: No sir.

What do you like about the Ducks, what do you hope to learn more about?

WB: I like the facilities and the coaches!

How many offers do you have; any favorites?

WB: I have 18 offers and no favorites as of right now.

What does Coach Cristobal talk with you about; did he recruit while at Alabama?

WB: Yes sir, he did, and he talks about how awesome the campus is up in Oregon.

Do you think you will officially visit Oregon? Do you have a list of schools that will get one of your five official visits?

WB: I plan to visit unofficial, but I do not have a date set yet. Not sure what my five official visits will be.

Measurable, what is your current height and weight; do you have any bench/squat numbers you can share?

WB: 6-4, 309, bench-350 squat-530.

Do you have spring or summer plans; camps or visits set up?

WB: No plans yet, but I will let you know.

Thanks William!

WB: No problem.
