4-star wide receiver Anthony Schwartz

Anthony Schwartz is interested in Oregon because of football and track. The 6-0, 175 Schwartz,from American Heritage High School, in Plantation, Fla., has blazing speed and could be a duel sport athlete. We spoke to Schwartz about his recent offer from the Ducks and he has some interesting things to say about both the football and track programs in Eugene.

AS: Thank you.

Which coach have you been talking with? When did they offer you?

AS: Coach Cristobal, yesterday.

Was the offer a surprise or have the Ducks been recruiting you for a while?

AS: They have been recruiting me for a while.

How much interest in Oregon do you have? Do you think you will visit? Have you been to Oregon/West Coast before?

AS: I am interested in Oregon, and I want to visit them.

Will distance be a factor for you and your family when picking a school? How many offers do you currently hold?

AS: No, and I have 21 offers.

What about the Ducks has your interest, what would you like to learn more about the school?

AS: Mainly because they have a great football, and track program. I want to learn more about the academics.

You want to run track in college too? Have you talked with track coach Robert Johnson?

AS: Yes and yes.

What do you run in track?

AS: The 100 and the 200.

What did Coach Cristobal and Johnson discuss with you?

AS: They want me to come do both, and succeed in both.

What your current height/weight/bench/squat/40 numbers?

AS: 6-0, 175; 235 bench; 295 squat and 4.34.


How long have you been playing football? Do you play any other sports besides track?

AS: Since I was six years old, and no (other sports besides football)

Have you talked with guys like Devon Allen about what it's like doing track and football in college? If so, what do they say about the demands of being a division one two-sport athlete and student?

I have not talk to people like that yet, but I am probably going to speak to Artie Burns soon.

What are some of the skills you want to work on during the spring and summer before your senior season?

AS: Route running.

Do you have plans for any camps or campus visits set up?

I have visits to Florida, Auburn, Georgia and Florida State.

Once done with track and playing football what would you like to do for a career?

AS: I want to major in accounting so something to do with that.

Did you talk with Coach Cristobal about a time to visit?

AS: He said he might try to talk to me at The Opening.

What do you do to relax or for fun?

AS: Usually what I do to relax is play video games.
