Largo High School's Jaquaze Sorrells

It hasn't been a secret that 2019 Florida commit Jaquaze Sorrells, 6-3, 260, Largo HS, Largo, Fla., would like to take some more visits and yesterday (March 13) Sorrells was offered by the Oregon Ducks. He indicated that a visit to Eugene is very likely. Here is what he had to say.

 Jaquaze Sorrells

Hello Jaquaze, congrats on Ducks offer.

JS: Thank you.

When did you get the Oregon offer? Which coach(s) have you been talking with?

JS: I got the Oregon offer yesterday (3/13/17) around 2:00 p.m. and I have not spoken to any coaches yet.

Did they talk with your High School coach?

JS: Yes sir, the plan was to call my recruiting coach, but they were all in meetings so my head coach just told me.

How much interest in the Ducks do you have? What do you know about the program, what would you like to learn more about Oregon?

JS: My interest in Oregon is high because I always told myself that I needed to get an Oregon offer and it finally happened. I do not really have a lot of background knowledge on the school or the football program, but I would love to learn everything there is about Oregon football and academics.

How many offers do you currently have? Of those offers, do you have any idea of which of those schools will get one of your five official’s visits?

JS: I have five offers right now, as far as visits, Florida, Michigan, and Oregon will be in my top five.

What is your current height/weight/bench/forty/squat numbers?

JS: My height is 6-3, 256: I do not have a max on bench, I do not max out, I just push 225 pounds., my forty is 4.9, and my squat is 425 pounds.

What position do you see yourself playing in college?

JS: It depends because I know Florida will like me to play DE (Defensive End) and Michigan was DT (Defensive Tackle) so I am not sure yet.

Do you prefer inside or out?

JS: I prefer outside.

Do you play any other sports?

JS: I play basketball.

How is your summer and spring looking in regards to camps and visits?

JS: Spring break I will only be going to Florida, and in the summer I will be taking a visit to Virginia Tech, Virginia and hopefully Michigan.

Sound like you will be busy. When would you like to visit Oregon? Have you been to West Coast/Oregon before? How big a factor will distance be for you and your family?

JS: I would love to visit Oregon sooner than my senior year; if not I will take an official visit my senior year. I have not been on the West Coast at all, and distance is a nail bitter for me, but I will follow my heart when it comes down to signing day / end of my recruiting process.

If you did not play sports what would be your dream profession?

JS: I honestly would not even know what I would be doing if it was not for sports.

Thank you Jaquaze, have a great day!

JS: You as well #GoDucks.
