What is a typical day like for Jim Leavitt now that he is at Oregon?
Besides, eating, coaching at practice, he does a fair amount of recruiting.
Recruiting is the lifeline for college football, and the Oregon Ducks have had their work cut out because this coaching staff has only been in place just about four months.
That means a lot of tweeting, texting and phone calls. Not only do the coaches talk to the potential student-athletes, they also talk to high school coaches, athletic directors and principals to find out what kind of individual they are recruiting. Is he a good student? Does get along with other people? Does he cause trouble?
All those questions are relevant and no wonder Leavitt predominately mentions recruiting when he was asked about his typical day.
While the Ducks only have one verbal commitment at this point for the 2018 class, there's no doubt that number will be going up and if Leavitt and his fellow coaches are asking all the right questions, next year's class should be a good one.
