Want to know about how the team looks? Ask Darren Carrington

Oregon wide receiver Darren Carrington is asked often about how both the offense and defense is looking during spring practice. After all, the senior has been around the program for a long time and has seen the very best of times and the worst. He was the star of the 2015 Rose Bowl where he caught seven passes for 167 yards and two touchdowns, with a long of 56 yards in Oregon 59-20 win over Florida State. Then there was last year when the Ducks finished 4-8.

Even with all the turmoil of the 2016 team,Carrington remained a vital cog. He caught the game winning touchdown against Utah with two seconds left in the game to give Oregon a 30-28 win. It was the highlight of the year and in many ways one of the best receptions ever at Oregon.

Carrington has had some personal low points, primarily due to being suspended from the team for the National Championship game against Ohio State following the Rose Bowl win over Florida State. Undaunted, Carrington has remain steadfast to keep working and likely that is the reason reporters always seem to ask him of his appraisal of the quarterbacks, the other wide receivers and even the Oregon defense.

As a spokesman for the team, Carrington has always been forthright about how the team is doing. He's always been upbeat and that has to reflect his personality that despite setbacks, there is always something to build on.

On Friday, Carrington was again asked about the team and how some of the other players are doing and as always, Carrington was ready to answer with in positive and for the Ducks and their fans, that's a good thing.
