Gene Swindoll -

3-star CB Jaylon Reed

We followed up with Jaylon Reed, a 3-star CB out of Olive Branch High School, Olive Branch, Mississippi about how things are going recruiting-wise and here is what he had to say.

 Jaylon Reed

Hello Jaylon, wanted to check in and see how recruiting was going? Have you had any recent contact with Ducks coaches?

JR: Yes sir, Coach Clark and I talk every day or every other day. Tells me he's gonna get me from Mississippi to Eugene. We are really close, he had me on FaceTime, and I talked to the entire stuff. Coach Taggart told me how much he wanted me within his program as well.

How many offers do you have any leaders?

JR: 18 (and) still very high on Oregon, along with Vanderbilt, Tennessee, and Memphis.

To better understand the recruiting process with Oregon, do they give you a verbal offer first, then at some point send out a letter, stating this is an official offer contingent on a list some conditions like being able to clear the NCAA Clearinghouse, graduate from school etc.?

JR: Yeah, I am new to the process, but yes a verbal offer, and then I think an official offer comes in July. I have not asked about it exactly, but Coach Clark has made it clear if I wanted to commit today I could.

When we talked last you talked about face timing with Coach Clark, and building that bond. Sounds like it’s going good, can you tell me some of what you discuss?

JR: Just general stuff, and how he cannot wait for us to visit Eugene.

Speaking of committing, do you think you are going to wait to LOI to decide? Is there a chance you could commit early?

JR: I really need to visit first before making any decisions.

Have you talked about a visit date? Do you want to visit in summer or once school starts up for and official?

JR: Trying for the summer, but if I can’t, I will defiantly be coming for an official. It very important for my family to visit, and get them comfortable with releasing me so far from home.

Still 6-2, 170?

JR: Yes sir.

Great, thanks for the update!

JR: No problem.
