Oregon less one quarterback

Quarterback Johnny DuRocher left the Oregon football program, it was announced and confirmed today by the Oregon Athletic Department.

The 6-4, 215-pound player from Bethel High School in Spanaway, Wash. was competing for the back up role to junior Kellen Clemens. It had been thought headed into fall camp that DuRocher was the No. 2 quarterback, but a strong performance by true freshman Dennis Dixon caused DuRocher to drop on the depth chart.

With Johnny DuRocher's departure, Oregon has Clemens, Dixon and redshirt freshman Brady Leaf listed on the active roster as scholarship quarterbacks.

There was no indication of DuRocher's plans for the future.
