There has been a lot of speculation about what happened regarding my dismissal from the Ducks. I would like to tell all the Duck fans and alumni how much I appreciate them and their support. Autzen Stadium is an incredible place to play football. Last spring I was put on probation and suspended from this season's first game due to marijuana being detected in my drug screen. Over the summer I worked on making different choices, but I was not successful. Last week, my drug screen was again positive for THC (marijuana), and I was dismissed form the team. I am currently attending classes at the university. My family and I are discussing what my next steps will be. I know that I have a substance abuse problem, and that I need to work this through in order to move forward in a positive and healthy way.
My hope is that people will be forgiving of me, and that other athletes will see the damage caused by drug addiction.
I want to thank all those who have supported me, and I wish the Duck program the best!
