Week 11 for NFL Ducks

This week in the NFL a former Duck made a courageous effort to win in Seattle while one of his old team mates continued to rack up yards in a winning effort. Another ex-Duck quarterback threw a touchdown in a losing effort and two other Ducks played on Sunday for one of the surprises of the NFL season.

Playing with an injured right hip, A.J. Feeley brought the Miami Dolphins (1-9) back against the Seattle Seahawks, only to lose (24-17) when Feeley was picked off late in the fourth quarter by Michael Boulware, who scored on the return. Feeley ended the day going 23-for-45, 229 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. He also scored Miami's first touchdown by rushing the ball in from the Seattle 7.

Maurice Morris had a carry for three yards for the Seahawks and returned four punt returns for a 5.2-yard average. Seattle is now 6-4 for the season.

The Denver Broncos (7-3) rolled on the New Orleans Saints (4-6) by a 34-13 score. Bronco running back Reuben Droughns had a monster game rushing for 166 yards on 28 carries and scoring on a 51-yard run. Droughns is on track for a 1,000-yard season and has a total of 844 yards on 174 carries for the year.

It looked like the Detroit Lions (4-6) would even out their year, but a big comeback (15 points) in the fourth quarter by the Minnesota Vikings turned the game into a loss for the Lions, 22-19. Detroit quarterback Joey Harrington threw a touchdown pass and an interception on a 12-for-19 for 91 yards effort. Minnesota running back Onterrio Smith had eight carries for 27 yards and two receptions for 14 yards. Smith also returned two kickoffs for a 20-yard average.

Rashad Bauman did not play for the Cincinnati Bengals (4-6) in the 19-14 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers (9-1).

The Jacksonville Jaguars (6-4) were without George Wrighster when they lost to the Tennessee Titans 18-15. The Titans improved to 4-6 for the season.

The San Diego Chargers (7-3) continued their winning ways by beating the Oakland Raiders, 23-17. Both Defensive end Igor Olshansky and tight end Justin Peelle played but were not listed in any statistical category. The Raiders dropped to 3-7 for the year.

Safety Keith Lewis of the San Francisco 49ers forced a fumble and had a tackle and an assisted tackle in 35-3 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Punter Josh Bidwell had five punts averaging 48.6 yards per punt, with a long of 60 yards and three inside the 20. The 49ers are now 1-9 for the season and the Bucs are 4-6.
