Bing looking good for the Ducks?

Part of the Long Beach Poly package is Darnell Bing, 6-2, 215. Bing lists Oregon, Oregon State, Florida State, USC and Washington as his top five schools of interest. Bing is a five-star recruit as rated by

Some say that Bing is the best running back for Long Beach Poly but he is being recruited as a defensive back. Bing has plenty fellow alumnus of LB Poly on the Oregon roster. Current players, Samie Parker, Marley Tucker and Mike Willis are all graduates of LB Poly.

Reports indicate Oregon has a good chance at receiving a letter of intent from Bing later this month. Bing will visit Oregon with his teammate Hershel Dennis.

Bing is the type of player Oregon has been very interested in the last few years. Bing is athletic and has great speed. He runs a 4.5 40-yard dash, and is a Prepstar Dream Team player. SuperPrep regards Bing as the number three defensive back in the country this year.

The Ducks proved that team speed on defense could make the difference between a good solid team and championship quality team. Bing would make a great fit in future Oregon plans for Pac-10 and National Championship runs.

On a related note, our sources tell us that since the win in the Fiesta Bowl and the final number two national ranking the Ducks have had a surge of interest from players who made early commitments to other programs and are now contacting the Duck coaching staff.
