Love leads his team with a double-double

Scoring 23 points and hauling down 22 rebounds, sophomore center Kevin Love led his Lakers of Lake Oswego High School in a 55-45 win over the Lakeridge Pacers.

Lakeridge kept the game competitive as Pacer junior center Kenneth Rice scored 17 points. Rice, showing a nice medium range jump shot also had four rebounds. The game however was decided by the dominant play by the bigger Love (6-9) who was able to establish good inside position. In fact, Love ended the game with three more rebounds than the entire Lakeridge effort.

Lake Oswego is now 16-7 on the season and 10-1 in Three River League action. The Lakers suffered all their losses while Love was recovering from knee surgery or out due to an ankle problem. Since his return from the injuries, the Lakers have been perfect and have not been seriously challenged. Lakeridge is now 10-13 overall and 7-6 in league play.

Love's biggest game this season was two weeks ago against Oregon City when he scored 50 points and had 20 rebounds.

Love is the son of former Duck, Stan Love.

The Lakers will travel to Milwaukie on Thursday evening to take on the Mustangs in the final game of the regular season. Tipoff for that game is scheduled for 7:15 p.m.
