First Official Trip To...

California cornerback Devin Ross (5-11, 180, 4.45) has garnered offers from Tennessee and Purdue, and most recently Oregon, in the past month. That puts his list of offers at 11--also including Nebraska, Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon State, Washington, Washington State, Colorado State and Michigan State.

"I don't have a clear top five right now. I've got to say that I'm pretty open to the schools out there that either have or haven't offered me," said Ross, from Rancho Cucamonga High School.

"The schools that I've got interest in right now are Cal (no offer), USC (no offer), Nebraska, Oregon, Arizona, Washington, UCLA (no offer) and Tennessee. I'd really like to get offers from USC and Cal. I know that coach (Pete) Carroll was at my school yesterday (5/18), so I really hope they offer me soon.

"I don't have a leader right now. I really don't know who I like the most out of that list of schools. I've got to do more research on these schools to see who I like the best," he said.

Ross has been to the spring game at Arizona and also unofficially visited Arizona State on the same trip. He's been to USC's JR Day as well.

"I might take in one-day camps at Arizona and USC this summer.

"I've already got an official visit set for Nebraska on September 3. That's going to be for their first game of the season. I talked with the coaches from there and thought it would be a good idea to go there for an official because they're one of those schools that's far away and I've got interest in them.

"My old teammate, Averell Spicer (USC signee/defensive end), went there for one of his official visits and he said that he had a great time."
