Did someone mention inside linebacker?

Joshua Tatum may have received a lot of the attention at the Scout Berkeley camp last Saturday but Ben Chandler, another inside linebacker from Loomis (Calif.) Del Oro HS, gave Tatum a run for his money.

Standing 6-foot-3.5 and weighing 207 pounds, Ben Chandler had 103 tackles, three blocked punts (one for a safety and one for a touchdown) and forced three fumbles. He was his league's Defensive MVP and was the Sacramento Bee's first team All-Metro.

Chandler's time in the 40-yard dash isn't particularly impressive at 4.98 seconds, but his 33-inch vertical jump is good for a man his size.

Given his size and Oregon's need to deepen the roster with inside linebackers, Chandler could be somewhere on Oregon's Want list particularly after his good showing in Berkeley.

On the recruiting front, Boise State has offered Chandler along with Sacramento State, but California, Oregon State, Miami, Nebraska, UCLA, UNLV, Washington State along with Oregon have shown interest.

Academically, Chandler has a 3.0 GPA and scored a 1610 on the new SAT.
