Ducks Hunt Arizona Lineman

Arizona offensive lineman/defensive end John Romero Jr. (6-5, 295, 5.0) still says Arizona, Arizona State, Nevada, Oregon and Utah lead. All have offered, according to Romero. "Right now all of those schools are still even for me," said Romero Jr., from Salpointe Catholic High School in Tucson.

"I think that Arizona is recruiting me the hardest right now. They're an in-state school and they've been sending me a lot of mail all summer. I like the coaches there and hopefully they can turn their program around this year. I was also at their camp and I had a really great time with the coaches there. They all know what they want and they're working hard for the season ahead.

"Arizona and Oregon want me for offensive line, and the other schools in my top five want me for defense. I have no preference on playing one position over the other in college.

"I never go to ASU so I don't know that much about their program other than the fact that they've got some good coaches and a good academic program," he said.

"I haven't really heard anything from Nevada or Utah lately, but Oregon has been sending me a lot of letters in the mail also," he said.

"I'm not sure when I'm going to be setting up my official visits, but I'd like to make a decision on a program after the season."

2.8 GPA/scores unreported from June SAT--fall retest--"I still have to look at my score on the Internet, but I know that I want to take the test again."
