"I called up Iowa coach (Lester) Erb (receivers/special teams) last week and started talking to him about school and football, and I had this urge to tell him about setting up an official visit with Iowa for their game against Michigan. It's all good to go now.
"My relationship with my cousin, Tony Moeaki (Iowa '05 signee/tight end), definitely plays into my interest in them. I never got to really play football with him when we were kids and I'd really love to play with him in college. Right now I've got the opportunity to do that, and I want to see if Iowa is the right fit for me.
"Arizona, Iowa and BYU are still the schools that are recruiting me the hardest. I've also got some high interest in Arizona and I'll most likely take an official visit there. I like how Arizona is an up-and-coming program and how nobody really knows how good they're going to be in the next couple of seasons. It would be great to be part of a program like that. The coaches there are great. I've spoken with coach (Mike) Canales (quarterbacks) and (Mike) Stoops a few times, and they're really truthful guys," he said.
"BYU is still sending me a lot of stuff in the mail, and I like the rich tradition there.
"Cal is another one of those schools that I'm thinking about getting out to for an official visit. I was out at Stanford for a Nike camp and started talking with this one guy there afterwards. He told me that he was a football player at Cal. It was only later on in our conversation that he told me that he was Marshawn Lynch (tailback). I guess he was there to see how the camp was going and to see the recruits for a new season. He told me that if I went to Cal, he'd take care of me and look out for me…I really appreciated that," he said.
"Oregon, Boise State and Nebraska are still not out of the picture at all. I just really need to make the effort to get in touch with the coaches over there like I've been doing with Iowa and Arizona.
"All of these schools are still just ones that I'm interested in. I haven't really been paying that much attention to all of this recruiting stuff because I've been focused on the season ahead. My main priority right now is to play out this senior season and do my best. I haven't really sat down and narrowed it down to a top five yet, so those other official visits I'm looking to take are still all up in the air," said Havili.
2.5 GPA/18 ACT--fall retest--"I don't know if I'm fully qualified, but I still want to try and get a better score on the ACT."
Good to Go
