"Everything has been changing for me with all of the schools that I've mentioned before that I just don't have a top list anymore," said Berry, from Bishop McDevitt High School. "I should definitely have a solid list of five schools within the next week.
"It's taken me a while to make this decision on five schools because it's a big decision that I have to make and I need to take my time with it," he said.
"I'm still considering places like Virginia, Minnesota, Oregon, Notre Dame, North Carolina State, Pittsburgh and Florida. All of those schools have offered me.
"Right now I think that Pitt, Virginia, Michigan State, Virginia Tech and West Virginia are the schools that are recruiting me the hardest. My decision on five schools is going to come down to where I fit in and where I feel the most comfortable.
"I definitely like the East Coast a lot and I'd feel more comfortable around here because I've got family close by and stuff like that. That will play a factor in narrowing down this final list, but like I said, I want to go to a school where I feel comfortable and where I can earn some early playing time. If that happens to be on the West Coast or in the middle of the country, then I guess that's where I belong," said Berry.
"I was out at Pittsburgh a couple of weekends ago for an unofficial. It was great and I like it there a lot. They've got some great facilities and coaches. Everything went well down there.
"I haven't set up any official visits yet.
"Most of these schools are recruiting me at corner and for returning kicks. Some also want me at both positions. I really don't have a preference on a position." 2.9 GPA/950 SAT--fall retest unset--"I know that I'm qualified, I just want to see if I can do better."
