He officially visited the Cornhuskers for their game against Maine (9/2). "Nebraska has been my only official visit. I went there with Allen Bradford (LB) and his dad and Devin Ross (CB), who was with his parents," Wright said. "All the coaches were real cool at Nebraska and they showed us a good time. I liked everything about it.
"A lot of young players played for them and Nebraska looked real good. They won. The fans at the game showed us a lot of love and they were all shouting out our names. Nebraska was the first school to offer me. It sort of matters.
"I couldn't really say that there is a No. 2 school behind Nebraska. I haven't officially visited anywhere else, but I have at least been to all the other campuses. I haven't set up any other official trips yet. I'll try to take two more if I can during my season, probably to Oregon, and maybe to LSU. They really want me to come.
"My step-dad went to UCLA and my parents would love for me to go there," he said. "But I would only go there if I feel I would fit in. The UCLA and USC coaches have told me that they should be offering me, but I don't know.
"The USC DB coach (Greg Burns) came to my game against Rancho Bueno Vista, which we won 55-37. On offense, I had nine carries for 281 yards and four touchdowns, but one was called back. On defense I had five tackles. They all want me for defense, but Utah, Oregon and Arizona said they would try me for offense too.
"It would be a very tough call for me to choose between USC and UCLA if they offer…but I'd probably choose UCLA. USC has the power and they've been winning all the championships. UCLA is coming up though. (Karl) Dorrell is still new. I think they'll be surprising some people. I think UCLA seems like they need me more and they could use me more.
"I grew up watching Cal and I always liked them. I could see myself playing there," he said.
"I like that Arizona can use me and that they have good coaches and are in a good location too.
"I told the Oregon coaches that I would officially visit them. They show me a lot of love too.
"I won't make an early commitment somewhere. I'll see as much as I can.
"I'm best friends with Allen Bradford (team-mate) and good friends with his dad too," Wright added. "We always talk about going to the same school. It would be nice. But if it doesn't happen, we'll deal with that. He's got offers from UCLA and USC and I don't. So, I don't know.
"I would say that Allen is probably leaning towards UCLA over USC. I think he'd probably pick UCLA, although he talks a lot about them both. But he talks about UCLA more. I just get that feeling. His dad wants him to go wherever is best for him."
September calls--Kentucky, Kansas, California, Oregon, LSU, Washington, Arizona State and Nebraska.
