California tight end Rob Overton (6-5, 224, 4.75) still favors Oregon slightly over Mississippi, USC, Vanderbilt and Utah. Overton, from Moreau Catholic High in Hayward, said that Oregon, Mississippi and Vanderbilt have already offered.

"I love the facilities at Oregon," Overton said. "The coaching staff is great and they always seem to do pretty well. They have a really good offense."

Overton hasn't scheduled any official visits yet, but says distance will not be a factor. "I went to Mississippi and Vanderbilt during the summer and like it. Distance won't matter. I like coach Ed Orgeron. He's really intense. I liked him since he was at USC. The Trojans are still sending me mail, but I'm not sure how interested they are.

"Utah is sending me a lot of handwritten letters and they want to get some film on me from this season," he said. "I'm probably going to go through the whole recruiting process. I want to take my visits and see what happens."

Overton has had 15 receptions for 250 yards and one touchdown for an 0-4 team.

He reports a 3.0 GPA with a 1400 SAT.
