Louisiana cornerback/wide receiver Jai Eugene (5-10.5, 185, 4.45) claims 45 total offers.
"I am looking at Miami, Florida, LSU, Tennessee, USC and Michigan as kind my top choices right now, but I am keeping Oregon kind of in there too. All of them have offered," said Eugene, of Destrehan High School. Leader denied.
"I can't really put them in any kind of order until I have been to the campuses and met the players and coaches to see for myself. I haven't made any official visits yet, but in two or three weeks I think I can narrow it down to five or six so that I can decide where I will be taking those visits to. Right now, the only one I have set up is to Miami on Jan. 27.
"I love Miami. Coach CJ (Curtis Johnson, wide receivers) used to live next door to me, so I have a connection," he said.
"I was at Florida last summer (camp) and had a good experience there. I will be at the LSU/Florida game this Saturday (Oct. 15) to check both teams out.
"I am close with the coaches at Tennessee and Michigan. I have been liking Michigan for a long time.
"I have talked with Coach (Pete) Carroll and Ken Norton, Jr. (linebackers), and I just love USC. This is one I have liked since I was young.
"Oregon is a team that I want to visit and see how it is. They are an on-the-go team and they will come up in the Pac-10 in the near future," Eugene said.
"I will choose a school that offers the best education, and where I can feel comfortable."
Eugene plays quarterback in high school and notes, "all of the schools have been looking at me for defense, which is what I expected. They are looking mainly at me as like a cornerback."
He reports passing for over 1,000 yards for 11 touchdowns and has rushed for over 500 yards. Destrehan (5-0) travels to Napoleonville to play Assumption on Oct. 14.
