Sean Hakes: Great Trip

Sean Hakes, 6-3, 205, 4.6, Fort Worth (Texas) Nolan Catholic HS, took an unofficial trip to the University of Oregon last weekend and had a great trip. While he has yet to be offered by Oregon, he feels an offer maybe close.

"It was awesome, said Sean Hakes of his trip. "I loved Eugene and the entire trip."

Hakes indicated that he should know something in the next two weeks if the Ducks will tender an offer to him. So far, according to Hakes the Ducks have one quarterback offered and there are a couple more offers outstanding to potential quarterbacks.

Oregon is one Hakes' favorites. Currently he lists Bowling Green, Akron, Ohio University and Oregon as his top-4.

Hakes' plan is to graduate early from high school so that he can enroll in college and be available for spring football, whereever that might be.

His team is currently 7-3 for the season and next week he will travel to San Antonio for a playoff game and until his season is over, he won't make any decision about his future.

There were a couple of other quarterbacks Hakes met while in Eugene. One was Nathan Costa, a player that has already committed to the Ducks and the other was Cody Kempt from Westview High School in Portland. Sean also met a receiver from a junior college in the Fort Worth area that may have gone to BYU. Sean thought the wide receiver was deciding between Oklahoma State and Oregon.
