Terry Jonz Named as Women's BB Radio Voice

EUGENE – Terry Jonz, who has been a fixture as a mid-day radio personality in the Eugene-Springfield area for the past 19 years, has been selected as the radio play-by-play announcer for all University of Oregon women's basketball games for the 2005-06 season.

Jonz, who broke into the profession in the Portland market in 1982, has worked at Magic 94.5 in Eugene since 1987 and has provided radio play-by-play for high school and collegiate sporting events for the past 23 seasons. In addition, the Eugene native has served as an engineer for all of the Ducks' Oregon Sports Network football and men's basketball radio broadcasts for the last eight years.

He also has provided play-by-play for several Oregon men's basketball broadcasts in the absence of Jerry Allen over the course of the last three seasons.

As part of his new assignment, Jonz will become program director for Cumulus Media's Star 102.3.

All Oregon women's basketball games again will be broadcast live on KSCR 1320 AM, beginning with Friday night's regular-season opener vs. St. Francis (PA).
