Shareece Wright Profile
"I'm going to take these two official visits and I should be making my decision soon after that," Wright said. "I've thought about announcing it during the California/Florida game or we may have an assembly at my school where I could do it.
"Right now it's a tie between Arizona and USC. They are my top two, but USC hasn't really offered me a scholarship. They are waiting for my grades."
Wright reports a 2.5 GPA and a 730 SAT score. "This quarter I had a 3.5 GPA and I've improved my SAT score too. I had a 660 before and I know USC was waiting to see my retake score. I think they were concerned about my grades. I'm still going to take the SAT again."
Wright has already visited Oregon (October 15) and Arizona (November 12). "I had been to Arizona before," Wright said. "But still had a great trip. It was cool to talk to all the players and hang out with the team. The are all cool guys and I get along well with them. I also love the weather there. It's really warm and beautiful. They are recruiting me the hardest. They do what they can to contact me. Coach Mike Stoops will be coming for an in-home visit this week and a couple other coaches were already by last week. The offensive coordinator really like me as a wide receiver and said that they will do whatever they can to keep the ball in my hands."
Oregon head coach Mike Bellotti already met with Wright on an in-home visit as well. "We actually met with Coach Bellotti at Allen's house (teammate Allen Bradford) last Wednesday," Wright said. "I had already talked to him a lot during my official visit. The purpose was for him to talk to my parents and answer any questions they may have."
Yesterday, Wright and his teammate, Allen Bradford, were at the USC/UCLA game. "Being at the game was great," Wright said. "It was fun and a good experience, but USC won easily and the game was definitely overhyped. I was looking for a good game, but I've been to better games at the Coliseum before. It wasn't that good."
Wright finished his season with 16 rushing touchdowns on 78 carries for a total of 1020 yards. Defensively, he had 68 tackles. Wright missed the first two games of the season with a broken left hand. His team finished the season with a 9-3 record.
