Tyler Porras Profile
"Their program is really coming around and I've built a good relationship with the Stanford coaches," Porras said. "Coach Tom Quinn was at my house and my family has gotten pretty close with him. They are a great program and I love the academics. They just have a good balance between academics and football."
He says the Cardinal are recruiting him the hardest. "I've sent out a bunch of tapes and I'm hoping to hear back from a lot of these schools," Porras said. "Arizona wants me to visit in January and I think they are close to offering. They've been after me for a while. I'm going to wait until February and see who else offers before I commit."
Porras says he favors Stanford slightly over Arizona, Oregon, Washington and Cal. "I love the facilities at Oregon," Porras said. "They are state of the art and they're sponsored by Nike and they really have it all. Autzen Stadium is also a great place to play football."
His dad is Tom Porras, who played quarterback for Washington.
Porras finished his senior season with 783 yards rushing and four touchdowns. He also caught three touchdowns and had 279 yards receiving. Porras was impressive on special teams and averaged 25.4 yards per kick return, totaling 178 yards. Defensively, he had 58 tackles (27 solos) and one interception.
He reports a 4.0 GPA and a 1620 SAT.
