Jonathan Cornell Profile
Cornell's only official visit thus far has been to Mississippi on November 18. "I loved their hospitality and how nice everyone was," Cornell said. "The South is a great place. I really liked the bond of the team and they treated me really well. Also they have a great weight-lifting program because they work really hard on lifting and training."
He doesn't have any other official visits scheduled yet. "I won't decide on a school until the end of January because I want to take all of my visits," Cornell said. "I think it'll just come down to a gut feeling.
"I really like the coaches at USC and their tradition. I think they all really care about their players and I like that they are close to home.
"UCLA is close too. They are in a great area and have really good academics. I think the main difference between the two schools is their playing style. USC is more about hitting you in the mouth and grinding it out. While UCLA is more of a finesse team that will out smart you."
The only one of his favorites Cornell hasn't visited at all is Oregon. "The program is great," Cornell said. "In the last 10 years they've had the winningest record in the Pac-10. Coach Mike Bellotti is known for being a great coach and he has a great staff."
Cornell finished his senior season with over 100 tackles and four sacks. He also had 12 rushing touchdowns.
He reports a 2.2 GPA and a 830 SAT, which he is retaking on January 28.
