According to his coach at Loyola, Jeff Kearin, Peppars committed to Coach Mike Bellotti and John Neal. Kearin indicated that Peppars played more on offense than defense for Loyola but that the Ducks recruited him as a defensive back.
"He is however, probably our best defensive back, but we were lucky enough to have enough talented DB's to free him up to bear the load of our running game and play sparingly on defense," Kearin wrote of Peppars to eDuck.com in an email. "I am of the opinion that CB is his best position and obviously the staff at Oregon believes that to be true as well."
Kearin characterized Chad Peppars as "a great kid who is a qualifier and done well in a competitive college prep curriculum." According to Kearin academics are a priority to and his parents. Chad will also run track at Loyola.
Cornerback is his best position
