Marvin Johnson Profile
"I did it three days ago," Johnson said of commitment to the Ducks. "I told Coach (John) Neal."
Johnson indicated that he chose Oregon over Mississippi State for a couple of reasons. First, his cousin Jeremiah Johnson is a running back for the Ducks so it makes things a bit easier to have someone in the program he knows. Secondly, Oregon is a West Coast team and it makes it easier for Marvin's mother to attend games.
"She's always been to all my games," Johnson said of his mother. "That was an important part."
Johnson was recruited as a rover.
Dominguez won the Division III State Championship this season by beating Notre Dame HS (Sherman Oaks) 41-14, and posted a 13-1 record. Johnson, playing quarterback on offense had 101 carries for 1,016 yards and 18 touchdowns running the ball. He was also 54-of-96 passing for 1,250 yards, 19 touchdowns with only two interceptions. Defensively, he recorded four interceptions.
Johnson stays on West Coast
