Arizona State Up Next for Ducks

Arizona State (6-7, 0-4) will walk onto McArthur Court just in time for the Oregon Ducks (7-8. 1-2) to even up their season record to 7-7 on Thursday night. There will be no live television coverage for the Thursday night contest, but the Oregon Sports Network starting at 7 p.m. will carry the game on radio.

The Ducks come off a pair of losses in the Bay Area. A week ago on Thursday night the Ducks dropped a 77-66 loss to California and then on Saturday, Stanford held the Ducks off 64-62. While the losses in the Bay Area were tough, the Ducks showed some positive improvement. Oregon now has out rebounded opponents in six of the last seven games. Oregon also has more assists in seven of the last eight games. Free throws, an area that has been of concern has also been better, topping the 70 percent in five of the last eight games.

Forward Maarty Leunen is listed day-to-day as a result of a moderate right ankle sprain suffered during the Stanford game. Center Ivan Johnson remains suspended for Thursday night's contest. Johnson was suspended prior to the Stanford game due to not living up to the personal expectations previously established between himself and head coach Ernie Kent.

Arizona State has struggled all year and has not won a Pac-10 game. Last weekend the Sun Devils lost to USC 65-66, and lost to UCLA 61-60. ASU has a two-game win streak at Mac Court. Guard Kevin Kruger is the Sun Devil's leading scorer with 15.2 ppg and forward Brian Krueger is the only double-figure scorer averaging 13.2.

Overall, ASU holds a 34-26 record advantage over Oregon and are 4-3 over the Ducks in the last three years. Oregon is better at home against ASU winning 15 and losing 13 overall.

Tip-off for the game is scheduled for 7 p.m. with Jerry Allen calling the play.
