Over 250 potential Division I football recruits participated in the last Nike Camp of the year. The camp was held at the University of Oregon. Participants started arriving at 10:00 AM for the four hour camp. Height, weight, standing jump, shuttle run, 40-yard dash and 185-pound bench press was tested in the camp conducted by Student Sports.
Participants came mostly from Oregon and Washington though a roster indicated youngsters from California, Utah, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, British Columbia, Alaska, Texas, Illinois, Tennessee, Virginia, Hawaii, Nevada, Arizona, Florida and South Carolina also attended.
One of the more impressive performances of the day was put in by Cody Ellis, a wide receiver/defensive back from Puyallup, Washington, who ran a 4.34, 40-yard dash.
Johnny DuRocher, from Bethel High School, Spanaway, Washington, who is the first verbal commitment to the Oregon Ducks also was in attendance.
Oregon will hold a one day camp tomorrow at the Moshofshy Center. Many of Saturday's participants will stay an extra day and attend Sunday's camp.
