Sean Wiser Profile

"I just got back from visiting Duke and Kentucky…it was great," said Wiser of Oak Christian High School. "I really loved Duke. Their facilities are great and the campus is beautiful. I like the coaches too. I had a great connection with the receiver coach Scottie Montgomery. He told me that they could see me starting early.

"Kentucky was the first to offer me in February. I had a great visit last week. The campus and the stadium are so big. I got to watch practice and get to know the team a little bit. That was great. They live for football out there. It's a different world from here. They told me they only had two receivers on scholarship, the rest were walk-ons.

"Oregon is one of my top picks and would be the school I would pick as my slight leader if I had to…I'm going up there in two weeks for either their junior day or the spring game…I can't remember. I've can't wait to see the stadium and facilities, I heard they are really nice. Coach (Steve) Greatwood and I talk once a week. They are a balls-out team and they are a great team…they've been great for a long time.

"I've also been talking with Stanford a lot," Wiser said. "I don't have an offer from them yet. Stanford is the best of both worlds…education and athletics. I always liked them growing up. I'm going up there for a spring game in May.

"Cal is up there too," Wiser said. "I don't have an offer from them yet. I see myself fitting in there because they are a team that likes to throw the ball. Cal is a lot like Stanford…good grades, good football. I haven't talked with them much, but I'm going up there in May. I'm going to hit Cal and Stanford the same weekend.

"My strength is my route-running and my hands. I have strong hands. Also, I'm a good size. I need to work on getting faster off the line. I'm working with a trainer on my strength and speed."

Final junior (13-0) stats: 42 catches/ 910 yards/13 TDs; 4 interceptions; bench bress 205/power clean 225/squat 315.

Wiser reports a 3.9 core GPA and is awaiting early April ACT results.
