Linebacker Zeros In On Oregon

He is one of the top rated middle linebacker prospects in the country. This stud has already fielded offers from Oklahoma, Oregon State, USC, Colorado, Arizona and Washington, but the one offer he is looking for just might be Oregon. Have you guessed who he is yet?

Drean Rucker, 6-1, 230, 4.65 from Canyon Springs High School in Moreno Valley (CA) is already drawing favorable comparisons to another blue-chip linebacker from the same area, Solomon Bates. Rucker really stood out at the USC Nike camp in April and was recognized as the top linebacker in attendance. Greg Biggins at PacWest Football must like him, since he has Drean rated as the #2 linebacker in the West and the network also added a lofty #17 national position ranking for Rucker.

Drean is considered a tough football player who flies to the ball to deliver a devastating hit. He is surprisingly fast for his size and is very strong in the weight room where he benches 365, power cleans 325 and squats 525. Last season he logged an impressive 115 tackles and looks to improve on that number this season. On the recruiting front, Drean Rucker likes USC, Arizona and Oklahoma, but his current favorite is Oregon, the only one of the four who hasn't offered yet. Keep checking your mail Drean.
