ABC Picks Up First Two Home Games

EUGENE – The University of Oregon's first three football games of the 2006 season have been chosen to be played in front of a network television audience, with the first two home appearances of the year to be aired by ABC Sports, according to an announcement Monday by the Pacific-10 Conference and its primary TV rights holder.

The Ducks' Sept. 2 season opener vs. Stanford as well as its second home game Sept. 16 against Oklahoma will both be televised live on ABC, which includes Oregon affiliates KEZI-TV in Eugene-Springfield, KATU-TV in Portland, KDRV-TV in Medford and KDKF-TV in Klamath Falls. Kickoff for both games will be 12:30 p.m.

In addition, Oregon's second game of the season Sept. 9 at Fresno State also will be televised nationally on either ESPN or ESPN2 according to the Bulldogs' official website, with kickoff for that game still to be determined.

Oregon's third game in as many years against Oklahoma will be part of a Pac-10 television double-header, with the Nebraska at USC game also scheduled to be televised on Sept. 16 at 5 p.m.

ABC Sports also announced it would televise Notre Dame at USC (Nov. 25) and USC and UCLA (Dec. 2). The remainder of ABC's Pac-10 television schedule will be announced at a later date, while the games to be aired on Fox Sports Net and Turner Sports are due to be released on June 1.
